SMIP Ranch Produce

SMIP Ranch (SMIP is an acronym for sic manebimus in pace, Latin for “thus we will remain in peace”) is located in the hills above Woodside. The farm was established in 2002 to provide fresh, local produce to the Village Pub in Woodside. SMIP Ranch Produce has a unique relationship with the Village Pub, and as of 2009, with Mayfield Bakery and Cafe. Approximately 50 percent of each restaurants produce comes directly from three acres of the ranch’s land, all of which is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. This collaboration, between allows the chefs to no only get the freshest, highest quality produce, but to support local, sustainable agriculture.
In 2011, we decided to try out a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) pick-up point at Mayfield Bakery and Cafe and at the Village Pub.
